@Carole: We've got a large roof overhang so it would need to rain quite heavy. Temperature wise, we live in sunny Queensland where we have maybe one month where it gets really cold (still above freezing though).But I think the more important thing is that depending on the battery technology we end up using these batteries may let of some gases when they are being charged that you don't want in your house. This would be the most important reason for not having an internal door to the battery room.

I love the large deck area you have planned, it's nice to have all that space to enjoy the outdoors. Question though, why only outdoor access to the battery room? Wouldn't you want to get to it from the inside in case it's raining, or cold or in the middle of the night and you need to get in there?Caroles last blog post..Random Thoughts on Fair Food, Politics and Our Stupid Refrigerator
